Starfish Children's Day Nursery and Preschool is set in peaceful Merrow, on the outskirts of Guildford, Surrey . Our convenient location is close to local schools, road and rail links and Town Centre shopping, making us a perfect choice for all short and long term nursery and preschool requirements.

 

At Starfish Day Nursery and Preschool we encourage caring and respectful attitudes towards others, whether staff or children.  We put great emphasis on learning through play by utilising our indoor and outdoor facilities. Starfish children, from three months, through toddling times to preschool, will find our nursery a stimulating and reassuring environment, assuring their transition from home to nursery is a smooth journey. 

 

Our nursery and preschool fosters a child centred approach to early years education that encourages children to develop their confidence and independence.  We are fortunate to have an outdoor play area which is designed to promote children’s learning, not only supporting the child’s physical development, but also providing a range of activities and resources to promote children’s natural desire to explore and investigate.  We have recently introduced a gardening area to encourage those children with “green fingers!”

 

The nursery and preschool follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to support all aspects of learning and development for young children.  This offers children the very best start and develops confidence, knowledge and understanding to support their transition to school.  We believe that children learn through play and a wide range of experiences therefore we create a fun and stimulating environment for all our children.

All children feel valued and play socially with one another. Staff promote an extremely happy and positive atmosphere and the sound of children's laughter is evident throughout the nursery.' 

 

 

 

Whether you require full time early years education or part time childcare for your child the nursery will do their upmost to accommodate your requirements.

 

We provide childcare from 7.30am to 6pm, 51 weeks per year (closed between Christmas and New Year and on Bank Holidays). Children can attend our nursery or preschool for full days (7.30am to 6pm) or half days (7.30am to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm).

 

Our nursery and preschool services are fully inclusive so your child will receive meals, snacks, milk, even nappies are provided. See Meals and Nutrition for further information.
